My grinders pump lots of coolant so you really can't grind by hand with the coolant on. Very, very crude but it works. Twice a year we run 50-100 "undercut" tools made from standard endmills. This we do on on a SG with an el-cheapo 5C collet spin fixture as we need a controlled width on the tip. Anyone with a surface grinder can make these.
